Last Thursday, October 31, 6 new RTGs (Rubber Tyred Gantry) arrived at the MultiRio Container Terminal on the ship Zhen Hua 19.
They were purchased from ZPMC top operate in the MultiRio Container Terminal. The new RTGs are responsible by stacking containers, increasing static capacity and the Port´s operational efficiency. They join the fleet, which was composed of 6 others RTGs that are operating since 2011 in the terminal.
The acquisition is part of the Multiterminais Group's expansion in the Rio de Janeiro Port, whose objective is to meet the new volume demand through extending the quay, building a new parking garage and the acquisition of modern and efficient equipment.

The RTGs are 100% electric, not using fossil fuels in order to operate. Some technical information about the new equipment:
- Stacking of containers: horizontal distribution with 6 units and the passband for terminal trucks and vertical with 6 containers and the passage;
- SWL Capacity: 40 tons.
