Lula's second visit, in 14 months, to the CSA construction site was marked, this time, by a moment of emotion, led by a company employee.
Called at the microphone to tell how he managed to be hired, the steelmaking's mechanical assistant, Marco Antônio Rezende, 30, gave an account of his life, which touched most of the approximately 1,000 people present at the event.
"I live in a community here in Santa Cruz. I went through a lot of need in life. I had a job at SENAI (National Industrial Training Service) with over 10,000 people and I managed to get through. My mother is a domestic worker, I'm 30 years old and this is the first time that I work with a formal contract. My life has changed because of the opportunity that CSA gave me. I am very proud to work here ", he said, unable to contain his tears.
Before giving an impromptu speech, the Brazilian president handed over, on the eve of the International Labor Day, the badge number 30 thousand to the light machine operator Raphael de Oliveira Pereira, 20, an employee of Stahllog, a service company in the stowage sector of the CSA port.
Stahllog, a subsidiary of the Multiterminais Group, was officially created in 2008 with the specific purpose of being the solution to CSA's logistical demands.
Today the main activities carried out are:
Port Operations:
Includes the planning and operations of unloading solid bulk imported by sea, mainly coal, and the loading of steel plates destined for export. The initial phase of the project includes the receipt of 4.5 million tons of coal and the disposal of 5.0 million tons of steel plates.
Warehousing Operations:
It concerns the receipt, storage, movement and control of imported and national parts that will be used in the construction of the steelworks. It also acts as guard for CSA's spare parts.
