The ceremony was attended by Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Fernando Pezão and the mayor of Itatiaia, Luiz Carlos Ypê. Also present at the time were the Economic Development Secretary of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Júlio Bueno, CODIN President Maria Conceição Ribeiro, the Deputy Mayor of Itatiaia, Edmar Barbosa, the Municipal Economic Development Secretary, Denilson Sampaio, Pátria Investimentos Directors, Heldmut Fladt and Marcelo Jensen, Multiterminais Group Logistics Director, Ricardo Vega and the President of the Multiterminais Group Board, Richard Klien, as well as other distinguished guests.
With a R$250 million investment, the industrial and logistics complex will generate 200 direct and 500 indirect jobs. The complex will have a railroad detour of 900 linear meters and an area of 80.000 sq. meters.
The new intermodal complex, Brazil´s most modern facilities of its kind, will be totally integrated and digital, and will have railroad and road access, serving as a connection to the Port of Rio de Janeiro. It will be interconnected with the Itatiaia Dutra Business Park, a warehouse complex with 5 warehoused and a hotel, belonging to Pátria Investimentos.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month and it is expected to be fully operational in 10 months.
